Back to School Hairstyles - Back To School 2014

Sunday, August 31, 2014

Since it's almost time to go back to school, I thought I'd continue with my back to school series, this one being about hairstyles. The other two posts received some lovely comments and a lot of views, so I'm hoping this one will go down just as well. I've listed 3 easy hairstyles that you can quickly do before school, all of which can be adapted to your school rules and personal style. So here they are!

1. Preppy twisted bun

This hairstyle is definitely one of my favourites, as I love wearing my hair in a bun. It stays out of your face, looks presentable and is really easy to do. I started by brushing all of my hair over to one side and decided where I wanted the bun. I decided to go with a low bun that was below my ear and I secured all of this hair with a bobble (you might call them hair ties or elastics). Once you've done this, twist all of the hair and wrap it around itself to create a bun. It's hard to explain but it's really easy to actually do. Once you've done this, you can either secure it by tying another bobble around the bun or using bobby pins to hold it. I used bobby pins as well as some corkscrew clips, which are optional but I love them as they keep the hair in place better than any other clips. Some extra things you could do are add a hairband, put something around the bun or pull pieces out from the front.

2. Cute side plait

Plaits are really versatile and can be worn in many different ways to look cute and unique. This four strand plait is easy to do yet will leave your friends amazed! Start by taking a section of your hair from one side, either from your part line or by your ear. Now all you have to do is split it into four sections and braid it. Start by taking the first strand and crossing it over the second strand. Then, take the third strand and cross it over the fourth strand. Finally, cross the new third strand over the new second strand. Continue these three steps until the braid gets up to where you want it. Lift up some of your hair where the braid ends, so when you bobby pin it in place they won't be visible.

3. Girly waves

This hairstyle is probably the easiest of the three, but it still looks really cute. Before you go to bed, tie your hair into plaits. Remember that the waves will be tighter if you do more plaits, whereas they will be looser and more natural if you do less plaits. Sleep with your hair like this and when you wake up your hair should be really wavy. I'd keep the rest of your hairstyle simple to really draw attention to the waves, so maybe opt for a pretty hairband.

So they are three easy hairstyles that can all be done before school. Each one looks really pretty and I'm sure you'll be getting lots of compliments when you go back to school. I hope you enjoyed this post and are looking forward to some more back to school posts!
