It's no secret that I get stressed incredibly easily, especially in relation to college, and this feeling can be incredibly damaging and detrimental to performance. Everyone suffers from stress at some point in their life, and in small amounts it's healthy and helps to motivate you towards a goal, but too much stress can have a severe impact. Over the past few weeks, I've definitely been coping better and found my stress levels to be much more manageable, both from implementing some of these strategies and having a genuinely enjoyable month. I decided to make this post as it'll hopefully be useful for anyone who is stressed and needs some methods of relieving this, as well as being a point of reference for myself in the future, so I hope that you like it!

Get some fresh air
I instantly feel better when I'm out in the open, especially when a day of working at home can make you feel quite claustrophobic and stuffy, and just taking a short break by going for a walk really helps to calm any stressful thoughts and focus your mind. Doing some exercise is also extremely helpful, and it's a great way to channel all of your negative energy into a productive activity.

Meditate to calm down and ease your thoughts
When I used to go to yoga classes regularly, I always found that I would leave feeling much calmer and focused. Meditation is definitely something I want to do more in my daily life, even if it's just for a few minutes every day to restore my energy and feel revitalised. The 'Calm' app is a great starting point, and I know there are also some meditation podcasts available depending on what best suits you.

Take breaks from working
One of the best pieces of advice I recently received was to take breaks while working, and although you may hear this tip all the time, putting it into action is much more effective than you'd realise. My mindset is often that if I take a break, it's time wasted which could be spent more productively by doing work. However, it's unbelievable how much difference just a 5-minute break can make in restoring your motivation and allowing you to remain focused. On a day when I'm feeling particularly stressed and know that no productive work can be done in that mindset, taking an hour to listen to music with a cup of tea and some candles really makes a huge difference.

Switch off from social media
I often find that if I'm stressed, social media adds to it and makes me feel much worse, so sometimes it's better to avoid it completely, even if it's just for a few hours. Instead, spend your evenings doing something productive away from the screen, like reading a book, doing some baking or trying out a new hobby like playing an instrument or drawing. It'll definitely feel better in the long-run and allow you to fully unwind, as well as possibly finding a new pass time that you enjoy.

Try not to overload yourself with work
Although it's much easier said than done, the worst possible thing to do when you're stressed is to give yourself even more work to do. I'm definitely guilty of this myself, but I'd advise that if you're having a particularly stressful day, try and just focus on the work that has to be completed for the next day, or try giving yourself a day off from homework and revision to ease your mind and relax. Also, try not to overwork and spend hours on something that should only be a short task (although I'm definitely guilty of doing this at times).

Have a pamper evening
If you opt for having a night off from any homework and revision, then why not go all-out and treat yourself. Not only will it be good to finally give yourself the pampering that you don't always have time for, but it's also a great way of relaxing and de-stressing. Now's the perfect time for candles, bath bombs and some relaxing music, or whatever makes your evenings enjoyable.

I really hope that this post was useful for any of you that are feeling stressed, and remember that you're never alone with your issues and that I'm always here to help. If you have any other tips or advice then make sure you share them down in the comments, as I'm sure someone may find it useful. Thank you very much for reading this post and I'll be back next Sunday with another one!

An Autumnal Superdrug Haul - New Drugstore Releases

It's that time of year when Superdrug are offering 3 for 2 across all cosmetics, and I always make sure to take advantage of this promotion and purchase some of the products that I've had my eyes on for a while. This is definitely an ideal time to splurge on any drugstore items that you've been meaning to buy, and I took the opportunity to pick up some new releases that are perfect for this autumn. If you'd like to see what products are included in my haul then keep reading, as I can guarantee that you'll want to try out some of the items mentioned!

An Autumnal Superdrug Haul - New Drugstore Releases

MUA Pro Eyeshadow Palette in Fire Vixen

An Autumnal Superdrug Haul - New Drugstore Releases MUA Pro Eyeshadow Palette in Fire Vixen

I always browse the MUA stand to see what makeup bargains I can spot, and this eyeshadow palette has caught my eye the past few times that I've been in Superdrug. It offers 15 warm-toned eyeshadows that are extremely pigmented and the coppered, burnt shades are perfect for autumn. I couldn't resist picking up this palette and I know I'll definitely use it a lot in the next few months, and for £5 I certainly couldn't turn it down. Click here to purchase this product.

Maybelline The Eraser Eye Concealer in Nude

An Autumnal Superdrug Haul - New Drugstore Releases

It's a necessity to conceal my dark under-eye circles, as this is a clear indicator that I get considerably less sleep than I should. I love the illuminated under-eye look and thought that it'd be worth trying out this product to achieve it, after hearing nothing but great reviews of it online. I love the concept of the sponge applicator, which will hopefully make this product extremely easy to use, and I'm hoping that it'll make my under-eyes look bright and concealed without creasing on me. Click here to purchase this product.

Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick in Chauffeur

An Autumnal Superdrug Haul - New Drugstore Releases Makeup Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick in Chauffeur

Anyone who reads my blog will know that I'm a huge fan of nudish lipsticks and rose-gold, so this product is essentially perfect for me and understandably caught my eye straight away. This 'your lips but better' shade has a slight mauve undertone that I think will carry you into autumn nicely, and since Makeup Revolution claim that it's comfortable and high coverage, I definitely couldn't wait to pick it up and put it to the test. Click here to purchase this product.

Maybelline Fashion Tattoo Eyebrow Tint in Medium Brown

The concept of peel-off makeup products has definitely intrigued me for a while, but after seeing countless people share their love for this new launch I knew that I needed to test it out. The premise is to leave this on for 20 minutes before peeling it off and being left with fuller, even brows that last for 3 days. I definitely have a few sparse areas that could do with covering, and so I can't wait to try out this product. Click here to purchase this product.

Barry M Molten Metal Glitter Nail Paint in Pink Ice

An Autumnal Superdrug Haul - New Drugstore Releases Barry M Molten Metal Glitter Nail Paint in Pink Ice

I've had my eye on this range for quite some time, particularly the shade 'Pink Ice', but it's quite often sold out whenever I check Superdrug. I fell in love with this beautiful, shimmery pale pink shade after seeing it on Abigail Jessica's Instagram story a few months ago and completely adoring it, and I made a mental note that I needed to pick it up. I definitely don't paint my nails as often as I should, but I really can't wait to apply a coat of this polish as it looks absolutely gorgeous. Click here to purchase this product.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation in Soft Beige

An Autumnal Superdrug Haul - New Drugstore Releases Rimmel Lasting Finish Breathable Foundation in Soft Beige

I recently used up the last of my Bourjois Healthy Mix Foundation and have been on the hunt for a new one since, and decided that trying Rimmel's newest release would be a good idea as I love a lot of their products. This foundation claims to have a medium coverage yet still be breathable, having a long-wearing finish that stays in place, and so I can't wait to test it to see if this is true. I also love the doe-foot applicator, which is unique for a foundation but appears to make application a lot easier. Click here to purchase this product.

Superdrug Argan Hair Therapy Replenishing Treatment Masque

I've recently been trying to take better care of my hair and after getting it trimmed last week I'm determined to prevent it from becoming as damaged and dead at the ends. This argan mask will hopefully be extremely nourishing for my hair and restore the necessary moisture to the ends of my hair, which can often become quite dry and brittle. If you'd like to know more about my updated haircare routine, then I'd definitely write a blog post on it if it's something people want to read.

An Autumnal Superdrug Haul - New Drugstore Releases

As Superdrug is currently offering 3 for 2 across all cosmetics, my purchases were complimented with this super-cute tassel keyring. This was a nice added extra and I'll definitely find a use for this as it's really pretty.

I hope you enjoyed today's blog post, and if you'd like to know more about any of the products mentioned then I'd happily write a review when I've fully tested them out. I'd also highly urge you to go into Superdrug and make the most of the 3 for 2 offer while it's still on, as it's the perfect way to pick up some bargains. Thank you very much for reading and for the continual support, and I'll see you again next Sunday with another new blog post!

My Guide To Affordable Berry Lipsticks This Autumn

Autumn is the perfect time to branch out with lipsticks and wear some darker, bolder alternatives than what you'd usually go for. I definitely don't do this enough and often just opt for a pale pink gloss that is much more in my comfort zone, but there's nothing better than rocking a berry lip, and it's perfect for this season. In this blog post, I've compiled a list of my favourite drugstore berry lipsticks that are all incredibly affordable, so I hope you enjoy it!

Rimmel The Only 1 Matte Lipsticks | The Classic Matte Berry Lipsticks

My Guide To Affordable Berry Lipsticks This Autumn Rimmel The Only 1 Matte Lipsticks

If you're looking for a berry lipstick this autumn then I'd highly recommend making this collection your first port of call. Not only have Rimmel provided a selection of different bold options for you to rock in the colder months, but with a semi-matte finish and extremely long-wearing formula, these are a perfect starting point for anyone on the hunt for the perfect autumnal lip product.

500 - Take The Stage
Everyone needs a classic, pillarbox red in their makeup collection, and although it's a year-round essential you'll definitely find yourself reaching for this more often during autumn and winter. Bold yet still wearable, this lipstick is great for making a statement and is the staple red lipstick you need in your collection.

750 - Look Who's Talking
Chocolate brown lipsticks definitely did the rounds in everyone's makeup bags last year, but that doesn't mean you can't bring them back this autumn. Being more on the nude side makes this bold option perfect for a neutral yet classy look, and will also look gorgeous on darker skin tones.

810 - The Matte Factor
This crimson-toned red is almost verging on a berry shade, giving it a more classy and stylish vibe that looks nice with any outfit. Not only do the slight maroon undertones make it perfect for the autumnal months, but it's extremely flattering and the ideal day-to-night lipstick for your collection.

Rimmel Provocalips 16 Hour Kissproof Lip Colour | The Liquid Lipstick Lovers

My Guide To Affordable Berry Lipsticks This Autumn Rimmel Provocalips Liquid Lipstick

One of the burdens of wearing a bold lipstick can be the upkeep, as they require constant touching-up and checking to ensure that they stay in place without smudging or becoming patchy. Whether this is something you struggle with or find yourself being busy and on-the-go all day, then a liquid lipstick will definitely be up your street, and Rimmel has definitely got you covered.

410 - Not Guilty
This deep, crimson red is a gorgeous shade for the autumn and winter months, and although applying a red lip can often be risky and fearful of smudging, you don't need to worry about this one as it literally doesn't budge. A shade like this is definitely an essential in your makeup bag that you won't regret purchasing.

420 - Berry Seductive
Despite this shade being quite similar to the former, its more prominent berry undertones makes it perfect for this time of year. I love how festive this looks when applied, as well as enhancing the whiteness of your teeth, and like the other one, it really doesn't move once applied.

Seventeen Mega Matte Lipsticks | If You're Not Afraid To Be Bold

My Guide To Affordable Berry Lipsticks This Autumn Seventeen Mega Matte Lipsticks

Seventeen are really taking 'bold' to the extreme with this lipstick line, offering some of the most vibrant and eye-catching shades that I've seen on the market in the drugstore. If you want to stand out and let your lipstick be seen, then these striking lipsticks are definitely for you and will liven up any makeup look, adding a bold twist that you can easily pull off this autumn.

Roses are Red
Everyone needs a bold red lipstick, and the slight orange undertones to this one both make it a unique shade and perfect for autumn. The intense pigmentation is definitely admirable, and for me this product is ideal for the lead-up to Christmas as a festive choice, or just to mix things up from wearing true red lipsticks all the time.

Violet Summer
If you're feeling experimental then a purple lipstick may be something you're willing to try, although it's definitely out of my comfort zone. This vibrant violet epitomises eye-catching and is actually more wearable than you'd expect from a shade like this. Although I know that this may be too extreme for many people, autumn's the best time to experiment with a lipstick like this.

Back to the Fucshia
This deep, cerise-shade isn't what you'd normally go for with an autumnal lipstick, but its bold appearance and slight berry undertones mean it definitely deserves a place on this list. You can definitely build this to be a bolder shade, and out of the entire list it's probably the one that is the most versatile, taking you through the seasons.

My Guide To Affordable Berry Lipsticks This Autumn

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Crayons | For The Glossy Lip Lovers
I'll admit, a bold lip isn't best suited to everyone, especially if matte lipsticks aren't really your thing. However, don't let that stop you as there are some great ones on the market that provide a high-shine finish. These gloss crayons from Soap and Glory are much more sheer and wearable than matte alternatives, so they're a great place to start if you're intimidated by bold lipsticks.

Raplumzel
I've had this product for quite some time and I always come back to it, making it quite possibly my favourite berry lip that I own. It's extremely wearable and can be built from a subtle wash of colour to a much more intense plum shade, which is very flattering and ideal for autumn. If you're unsure whether you can pull off a bold lip option, this is definitely a good starting point.

MUA Matte Lipsticks | Cheap Alternative For Bold Lip Newbies
If I mentioned a brand that sold great quality lipsticks for only £1 then you'd probably think I was joking, right? Well, MUA has a few tricks up their sleeves, and after trying out their matte lipsticks for years I can assure you that they really are a bargain. If you're new to wearing a bold lip and want to test out a few possible shades to see what best suits your colouring, an incredibly affordable brand like this is the perfect place to start.

Shade 13
Although MUA has tons of shades on offer, this classic red is definitely my favourite. Although it makes a frequent appearance whenever I have a show or dance competition, it's also ideal for keeping in your makeup bag during the colder months. You really can't go wrong with a classic red lip, and for only £1 I'd highly recommend trying out this one.

Primark PS Beauty | The Semi-Nude Option
Just because Primark isn't a drugstore makeup brand doesn't mean they should be underestimated, as they do some amazing makeup products that are extremely affordable, especially in the lip department. Although they offer a wide range for you to try, my favourites have actually been those that are more on the neutral side, whilst still being perfect for autumn.

Velvet Matte Lipstick Crayon in Mushroom
This nude lip crayon has slight mauve undertones, and although I wouldn't class it as a bold lipstick as such, it is definitely a fairly statement option that I love wearing. Its cool-toned appearance makes it really stand out whilst still being a neutral option, and the affordability of Primark's makeup means you really can't turn down a product like this.

I hope you enjoyed seeing what my top picks are for autumnal berry lips in the drugstore, and I'd love to know what your recommendations are if you'd like to leave them down in the comments. Thank you very much for reading this blog post and I'll see you next Sunday with a new one!

Transitioning My Makeup From Summer to Autumn - My Beauty Staples

With autumn well and truly upon us, it's time to start transitioning your makeup away from the pretty pinks and peaches of summer, opting for darker berry tones in return. I definitely enjoy autumn as it's the perfect time for being more experimental with your makeup and opting for something bolder if you wish. In this blog post, I'll be talking you through the changes that I've made to my makeup routine in time for autumn, as well as sharing some of my favourite products for this time of year!

The start of the cooler weather means that your skin can become dry and dehydrated, so I make sure to implement a hydrating moisturiser into my everyday skincare routine, such as the Origins Ginzing Moisturiser. This helps to restore some of the moisture that my skin lacks, as well minimising the amount that my foundation clings to patches of dry skin. Since my daily spot cream is also quite drying to the skin, this is definitely an essential part of my routine.

It wouldn't be autumn if everyone didn't start getting colds, which can often cause skin discolouration, especially around the nose. Considering this, and the fact that I always have spots and dark under-eye circles from a lack of sleep, a high-coverage concealer is an absolute essential. Lately, I've been loving the Essence Camouflage Full Coverage Concealer, which seamlessly hides any imperfections without being too heavy. It also adds a brightened effect under the eyes, which is ideal for looking more awake.

Transitioning My Makeup From Summer to Autumn - My Beauty Staples

By the time that autumn has arrived, my summer tan has almost entirely faded and so it's necessary to add a bronzed glow back into my complexion. Especially with the dark, autumnal lip colours washing me out, applying some bronzer is a must-have, focusing it on the high points of the face where the sun would naturally hit. I definitely go through bronzers too quick and hit pan extremely fast, but my favourites are probably the Rimmel Kate Moss Sculpting Palette or the bronzer from the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Beautifully Defined Palette, and you can clearly see that I love them from the little product left in them!

In summer, I quite often have bare lids and just opt for some mascara for a fresh, bright-eyed look, but now is the perfect time for playing around with eyeshadows and embracing the more autumnal shades. Whether it's terracottas, plums or anything in between, autumn lends itself perfectly to a variety of eyeshadow looks, especially in palettes like the Primark Master Eye Palette which is a necessity for this season and there's a variety of possible looks you can create using it.

To finish off any autumnal look, it's a necessity to wear a darker, berry lip to tie everything together. Although I do love a nudish pink all year round, now is the time to explore some darker options that are perfect for the season. The Rimmel 'The Only One' Lipsticks are great semi-matte, long-wearing options for a statement look, whereas the Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Crayons are better for a more subtle wash of colour, possibly if you're new to berry lips and want to start off with a sheer look that is easier to wear.

I hope that you enjoyed this blog post as I really enjoyed writing it, and perhaps if you'd like a makeup look surrounding these products or for an in-depth review of any of them then make sure to let me know. Thank you very much for reading and I'll see you next week with another new blog post!

We're officially in autumn, meaning the darker evenings are well and truly upon us, making it perfect for cosy nights in. I really wanted to bring some of the autumnal vibes onto my blog and thought that you might be interested in seeing what my typical evening routine is during autumn, as this type of post has been highly requested in the past. Whether you're nosy and simply want to know what I get up to after college, or want to see how I make the most of the cosy autumnal evenings, then make sure you keep reading!

The first thing that I do of an evening is finish off any homework or revision that I may have. I try to get a lot of my work done in any free periods or as soon as I come home from college so that I'm not working into the depths of the night, but depending on my workload this isn't always possible and I'll quite often spend a lot of my evening doing any work that's left to complete. If I have an exam coming up, you can guarantee that I'll also be using this time to revise like crazy and review all of my notes.

To make my college work more enjoyable, I'll usually listen to a podcast or some music to keep me entertained. If you'd like to know which podcasts I've been listening to, then make sure you read this blog post containing my favourites and recommendations. If I'm feeling a bit peckish then I'll usually have a light snack, such as one of the Nakd Apple Pie Fruit and Oat Bars, which I've been obsessed with lately and are a much healthier alternative to a cereal bar.

Once I've finished all of my homework, I usually take the time to play keyboard, which is one of my favourite hobbies and I do it pretty much every evening. I'm obsessed with singing and learning how to play my favourite songs, so I quite often spend my time sitting in front of the keyboard either practising songs I already know, learning new ones or writing some melodies myself. It's also incredibly therapeutic and I find that any stress or pent-up frustrations from the day are eased by doing this.

I also quite often dance in the evenings and do some stretches if I'm feeling particularly motivated, as this is often the time of day when I'm feeling the most energised and thus likely to exercise, although it'd be a lie if I told you I did this every day.

It's then time to get a shower and wash my hair so that I feel clean and refreshed when getting into bed later on. If you want to make this particularly cosy and atmospheric then why not light your favourite autumnal candles to really set the mood? A bath is also a much more relaxing alternative if you don't need to wash your hair, and there's nothing better than fully unwinding after a long and stressful day.

I've actually updated my haircare routine recently and have been using quite a few new products to try and protect my hair from any further damage, including the Toni & Guy products photographed above, so if you'd like to know more about this and see what other products I've been using then I'd happily do a blog post on it at some point.

I also take the time, either when I'm in the shower or immediately after getting out, to take off any remaining makeup from the day and carry out my skincare routine. After getting fully clean, the last thing I want is to still have scraps of makeup left on my face, and so I make sure to use my Origins skincare products to clean and nourish my skin. If you want to know more about which products I use from their brand, then check out this post where I spoke about all of my favourites from Origins. I also apply my essential Acnecide Spot Cream to prevent me from getting any unwanted blemishes and to clear up my skin.

After getting changed into a cosy pair of pyjamas, it's finally time for my favourite part of the evening to commence - laptop time. I essentially live on my laptop and spend way too much time on it between doing school work and free time, but it's an essential part of my evening routine that I couldn't go without. Whether I'm drafting new blog posts, catching up on the latest Youtube videos or scrolling through social media, you can guarantee that I'll never be bored and will find something to do on my social media.

If that wasn't enough technology for one evening, I usually like to simultaneously browse on my phone. Although it's a terrible habit, I can't fully relax and have to be multitasking in order to keep my mind active and prevent me from getting bored. While writing blog posts, you can guarantee that I'll be listening to music or podcasts on my phone, and I often check social media or play games while Youtube is playing videos in the background on my laptop.

It wouldn't be an evening without a sweet treat and a drink to satisfy any cravings, and I always have my dog Georgie join me for this part of the evening in search of a few treats. I'll usually have some chocolate or a couple of biscuits depending on what we have in the house, and my drink of choice is either Pepsi Max or, on the colder autumnal days, a relaxing mug of peppermint tea.

Once I'm fully ready for bed and too tired to continue scrolling on my laptop, I usually spend the final moments of my evening reading in bed. Not only do I study English literature and have a never-ending amount of novels to read, but I've loved reading before bed ever since being a young child and it really helps to soothe me to sleep. At the moment, I'm reading The Turn of the Screw by Henry James as some wider reading on Gothic literature, but I've also got Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard queued up and I can't wait to start it.

And that's the end of my evening routine since it often doesn't take me long to fall asleep while reading. I hope you liked seeing what a typical evening has in store for me and I'd love to know what you usually do in the evenings. Also, if you'd like a similar post in the future focused on my morning routine then I'd definitely be up for writing that! Thank you very much for reading and I'll see you again next Sunday with a new blog post!
