Summer Lovin Tag

Wednesday, August 20, 2014

Since it's August and I've just been, I thought it'd be quite fitting if I did this tag today. My last tag post went down really well, so I've been wanting to try this one for a while now. Fleur de Force created this tag about a month ago and I've been dying to blog about it ever since, so now is the time! Instead of tagging someone to do this post, I think everyone who reads this should have a go at it!

1. Summer lipstick you're loving?
Although I've had this lipstick for some time now, I haven't used it much until this summer. It's an MUA lipstick in the shade 16, nectar. There wasn't any samples in the shop so I just bought it on a whim and I honestly didn't like it at first. However, I discovered that instead of applying it in one motion, creating a bold look, I prefer to apply a bit and blend it with my finger. This creates a more natural look yet still adds a pop of colour to my neutral based makeup looks.

2. Summer nail polish you're loving?

This one is hard for me to answer, as I never really paint my own nails. I can't wear nail polish for school as it's prohibited and when I go on holiday, I always have them done in Shellac. I don't have a photo of what I had them like, sorry.

3. Bikini you're loving this summer?

Back in about March, when Primark started getting in their summer swimwear, I picked up a really cute bikini. It's really bright and colourful, featuring white, purple, blue and green. It's perfect for summer and wearing it gave me a lot of confidence as it's really flattering. I love the style of the top and how the bikini bottoms are high waisted, as they look really 1950's style.

4. Favourite summer Frappuccino from Starbucks?

I can't really say that this is my favourite frappuccino from Starbucks, but I do really love it. I got the Mocha Cookie Crumble (except without the coffee) and it was delicious. However, I've only been to Starbucks once and that's what I got, so I don't know what the other frappuccinos are like.

5. Favourite fake tan?

I actually get a spray tan done before I go on holiday, but not by myself. I love it as it always turns out a really nice colour, has never been smeary or streaky and it leaves my looking glowing and healthy. The brand which is used on me is either Nouvatan or Suntana.

6. Favourite summer song?

This song is actually a fairly old one (it's from 2007) but I've been loving it this summer. A while back, when I was choosing what songs to download on my phone ready for my holiday, I picked Good Girl Gone Bad by Rihanna, as well as a few other songs from that album. For me, it brings back so many memories of summer and holidays, as I used to constantly listen to this song on repeat on my MP3 player from the age of 7 (when it came out) onwards. This summer I've really been loving it again and the obsession is continuing.

7. Favourite summer accessory?
Something that I've been loving for the past few months and was actually vaguely mentioned in one of my blog posts, is this daisy bun crown. Since my name is Daisy, I always get tons of compliments when wearing something with daisies in. This simply slots around your bun and is a simple but super cute way to jazz up a boring hairstyle. You can see a post where I'm wearing it here.

8. Favourite summer fragrance/perfume?

I don't often try new perfumes or fragrances often, as I like to use the ones I've got first. However, I was given a small sample of Katy Perry's Killer Queen perfume and I'm in love with it. It's hard to describe a smell but it truly is amazing and I've worn it quite often recently.

9. Summer book you're loving?

I read a lot of books while I was on holiday, but the one that really stood out to me was Divergent by Veronica Roth. So many people had talked about it but I never got around to reading it until a few weeks ago. I love the whole concept of it, it's incredibly well thought out and intricate, which is what I love. I also really enjoyed Freaks by Lisa M Forrester, which I'd never heard of. It's all about genetic engineering and stuff like that, which is very interesting. The characters are all really developed and there are quite a few huge plot twists!

10. What are you most excited to do this summer?
This summer, there are two things which I'm most excited to do. The first is go on holiday! I go on holiday for 3 weeks every summer and we always go to Spain, which I absolutely adore. In fact, as you're reading this I'm currently on holiday. The other thing is volunteering at my local library. As you can probably guess from the above question, I love books so being given the chance to help the kids at my local library will be a really good experience.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post! It was a bit different than my usual blog posts as it was a tag, but I liked how it was more relaxed and you could get to know me better. If you'd like to see more tag posts then let me know down in the comments, I'd really appreciate it.

Love from Daisy x
