Product Review- Models Own Lip Crayon

Quite some time ago now, I went shopping with best friend and I bought this item, along with a Maybelline Colour Tattoo and Maybelline's Great Lash mascara (blog post about that is here). So many people read it, in fact it's my most popular post as of now, and I was asked to do reviews for each of the products (here and here). However, I never got round to doing a review of the lip crayon due to my hiatus while I had end of year exams and then was on holiday. Since I'm back to blogging, I thought I'd give you this long overdue post!

I bought the Models Own Lip Crayon, or lip-stix as they're called by the brand, in the colour beauty blush. It's a lovely natural pink colour that's quite vivid and bold, yet can also be blended to look more subtle. The pigmentation is amazing considering it's a crayon, as I expected it to be quite weak.

Before you apply the lip crayon, I would recommend scrubbing your lips just like you would with any other lip product, just because it tends to cling to the dry flakes on your lips. When you apply it, it doesn't look stiff or harsh on my lips, as it does have a bit of moisture to it. The texture is really smooth and in between completely matte and creamy. The smell is perfumed, but I can't quite put my finger on what it is.

When I wear this lip crayon, I tend to apply a bit and blend it with my finger, building it up that way. I feel that it looks better on me than having a harsh colour on my lips, but that's just personal preference. I also put a lipgloss over the top just to ensure that it lasts a bit longer and my lips don't feel too dry and hard.

Overall, this lip crayon is such a lovely product, despite not being overly enthused when I first bought it. It has the right amount of pigmentation, and is very versatile in that you can wear it in so many different ways. I'm actually tempted to buy some of the other colours, but I guess we'll have to wait and see!
