A Week In The Life Of Outfits - Winter College Lookbook

Over the past year and a half of being in college, I've really stepped out of my comfort zone in terms of fashion. I never used to particularly enjoy putting outfits together and found it incredibly stressful if I'm honest, but the freedom of wearing my own clothes every day has led to me experimenting a lot more with different combinations and now I really enjoy curating different looks. I thought it would be nice to share a few outfits here on my blog, since it may also inspire any of you who are also students, so I decided to take photos of what I was wearing every day this week and combine it into a winter college lookbook. I've definitely covered as many bases as possible, as well as a lot of the items being affordable, so I hope you like this post!

Dresses and pinafores are something that I wear quite often, especially for college, as I really like how they look and also seem a bit more put together. This checked pinafore is something that I spotted in Primark and instantly knew that it was a very 'me' item, and the hint of mustard running through it is especially nice. I paired it with a basic black jumper to keep me warm without detracting from the focus of the pinafore and cardigan.

As it's winter and therefore cold, an oversized boyfriend cardigan is a staple item to throw on. It's a comfortable option to add to an outfit, which is definitely what I needed on a Monday, and I think that it added a finishing touch to my outfit whilst still being warm and comfortable. As with most of these outfits, I paired it with a pair of tights and my black Chelsea boots, which is the most practical option when I walk to college.

I actually attended a blogger event by The Body Shop on this day, and so I wanted an outfit that would look pretty whilst still being comfortable for an entire day of college and then being out all evening. I decided on this denim pinafore, which is an extremely versatile choice and definitely one that will take me through from winter to spring. I also love the frayed edge and pocket details that just add a bit of interest.

I was initially going to wear this with a jumper but I thought that I might get a bit too hot, especially since I was out all day, and so I instead layered it with this lace blouse from Stradivarius. Anyone who knows me will know that blouses are a staple of mine, and this one is beautiful with the lace pattern and bows around the sleeves, and I think combined with my pinafore this made a very nice outfit.

By the middle of the week, I decided to choose a comfier, more relaxed option for college. Warmth was also imperative on this day, as I definitely learnt my lesson the previous day whilst in the torrential rain in Liverpool, and so I made sure to wrap up warm. I don't wear jeans that often, but some days I much prefer them as the comfier option, as well as keeping my legs warm, and they look nice when paired with my Timberland boots.

Although I didn't photograph my coats in any of the other outfits of this post, this sheepskin coat was the main feature of this outfit and so I really wanted to share it. I've seen a lot of people wearing coats like this on Instagram and Pinterest, so when I spotted this one on sale in Primark for £15, I knew I had to try it. Not only is this a bargain for a coat, but I fell in love with it and adore how it looks. I added this chunky scarf to ensure that I truly was warm, which has lovely checked and houndstooth prints that match my coat nicely, and I wore a basic cream jumper underneath as well.

A jumper and skirt is my go-to outfit combination for college, and it's honestly surprising that it's only occurred once in this week, and I much prefer wearing something like this than jeans. It's really easy to put together outfits like this when I'm rushing to get ready for college, and there's a variety of options to mix and match with jumpers and skirts, so you really can't go wrong.

I love this wintry printed jumper, as it's very apt for the season and a pastel blue like this is one of my favourite colours to wear, and I wanted to make the most of this jumper while the weather is still cool. I tucked it in to give a more fitted look, as well as to show off the zip detailing on this taupe leather skirt, which is something that I didn't think I could pull off but I've actually enjoyed wearing.

Friday's outfit was perhaps my favourite one of the week, with the piece de resistance being these gorgeous Zara pants. I've been obsessed with them ever since I got them and really wanted to wear them for college, as they're extremely comfortable yet still look put together, and the white and khaki stripe detailing adds more interest than a regular pair of leggings.

I paired them with this white and black striped cropped jumper, which I spotted in the New Look sale for £10 and instantly had my Zara pants in mind. It's a very flattering fit due to being cropped, especially with my leggings being high waisted (although you'll have to be brave having a cold stomach!) and I also love the baggy fit and flared sleeves that I wouldn't normally opt for. This was definitely one of my favourite outfits in this post, as it both made me feel confident and was comfortable at the same time - a win-win situation!

I hope you enjoyed seeing a week of my outfits, and I really enjoyed putting together this blog post! I certainly have way too many clothes, so I'd definitely do something like this again, perhaps when the seasons begin to change and the Spring clothes come out. I'd love to know what you thought of this post down in the comments, as well as telling me what are your outfit staples for winter! Thanks for reading and I'll see you next Sunday with another new blog post!
