Benefit- The Bronze of Champions Review

Tuesday, April 08, 2014

Hello everyone. I'm currently on holiday in Spain, but I thought I'd schedule this post for you. Today, I'll be sharing my thoughts and opinions on the Bronze of Champions set by Benefit. Containing some extremely popular products, such as Hoola and They're Real, I needed to get my hands on it. Now that I've been testing it for a few months, I thought I'd tell you all about it!

I love the presentation of this box, as it's like a miniature cereal box and is really adorable! When you open it, there is a little booklet giving you tips on how to apply each product, which I thought was really handy and helpful, especially for those of you starting out with makeup. There is also a huge mirror inside, which is great for applying these products on the go.

The first product out of the six that I'm going to talk about is the Bikini-Tini Cream Eyeshadow. This is a beautiful champagne colour, which I think is wearable for everyday, but will also be the perfect base colour in a dramatic smoky eye. The consistency is really nice, as it's not to creamy and slippy that it's uncontrollable, but you can still blend it out really nicely. I really like this eyeshadow and it's one that I know I'll wear a lot.

Next up is the Shimmery Longwear Powder Eyeshadow in the shade Thanks a Latte. This eyeshadow is of a really good quality and I was impressed with the pigmentation of it. The colour reminds of the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze, but with more red undertones. I often use this in the crease and outer corners, but this would also look lovely all across the lid.

The third product is one that you are all probably really familiar with, it's Benefit's infamous Hoola bronzer. It's highly acclaimed and is said to be one of the best on offer. I found that this product is really enjoyable to use and I've been wearing it everyday. It has no shimmer, so it can look quite subtle if you want it to. It's also really pigmented, so I only use a tiny bit to avoid looking muddy.

The next product is the Watts Up Highlighter Stick. Before trying this, I'd only used powder highlighters, so I was excited to give this one ago. Needless to say, it lived up to my standards. It;s incredibly easy to use and gives a lovely shimmer, especially to the tops of my cheek bones. It blends really nicely, still leaving a gorgeous shimmer.

They're Real Mascara is another popular product from Benefit, so I was trilled that it was included in this set. This jet black mascara is perfect for achieving longer, more voluminous eyelashes. The wand is huge, so I ended up smudging it a couple of times, but that's worth it for the amazing look it creates. It's also waterproof, so my lashes always look completely intact after a day out in the rain. This is the perfect mascara and I really can't wait to use it more in the future.

The last product is the Hoola lipgloss. I hate to end my blog posts on a sour note, but I wasn't as impressed with this product as I hoped. The colour is great, being a shimmery gold, but it doesn't transfer onto the lips well. It also doesn't last very long, which saddens me.

Thank you for reading this post! I hope you enjoyed it and, if you want, I will provide extra opinions and information on these products. I'll see you soon with my next post, so bye for now.

Love from Daisy x
