Makeup Revolution Blush Palette

Sunday, March 29, 2015

About a year ago, the brand Makeup Revolution had only just started and I didn't believe that they'd end up so popular now. Literally every beauty blogger has been obsessing over their amazing products at low prices and the apparent dupes amongst their collection. After looking over their stand countless times, I decided to try their Ultra Blush Palette in Hot Spice. It was a product that I'd heard a lot about, so I was really excited to use it. Anyway, here's what I thought of it.

The palette is packaged in black, glossy plastic, which definitely makes it look more expensive than the £4 it cost. It's sleek and looks professional, but can become covered in fingerprints easily, which is the only negative. Inside, there are 8 beautiful blushers, 6 of which are bold mattes and 2 are shimmering baked blushers. It also has a huge mirror, which is extremely convenient for travelling.

Out of the 6 matte blushers, the colour range is great and there is a lot on offer, from a peachy terracotta to a bold baby pink. I was actually surprised by this, as on the website they all looked really similar and nowhere near as pretty as they are in real life. Another thing which took me by surprise was the size of the blushers, as they are really generous for a budget palette.

The application of the matte blushers is very nice and you can definitely create a lot of looks with them. Some of them are initially more pigmented than others when they're first applied, but you can still blend them out for a subtler blush. They are also extremely buildable and can be layered up for a statement look.

The 2 baked blushers are pretty, one being a coral pink and the other being a subtle, silvery shimmer. They are both beautiful colours that would look great paired with one of the matte blushers. However, I don't think that they'd be as good on their own, due to them not being extremely pigmented. There is a slight bit of colour but it isn't comparable to the matte blushers. A nice alternative to using them as a blusher is putting them on the tops of the cheekbones, like a highlighter, as this looks lovely.

Overall, I love this palette and I think that it's a great offer, especially for those of you starting with makeup or trying to save money. The matte blushers are gorgeous and the baked blushers look equally pretty as highlighters. This product has a professional feel to it and is of a great quality, so I'd definitely urge you to buy it.

If you've tried this palette before, I'd love to know what you thought of it and let me know your opinions down in the comments. I hope you liked this post and I'll definitely be posting more product reviews in the future, so you'll have to stay tuned to see them. That's all from me today and I'll see you soon!

Love from Daisy x
