Spring Makeup Look

Sunday, May 18, 2014

I've been wanting to do a spring makeup tutorial for a while now but I've never got around to it before now. Since the weather has been lovely this weekend and I've been trying out this new makeup look, I thought I'd share it with you. Enjoy!

After carrying out my usual skincare routine, I went straight in with my Collection Lasting Perfection concealer, in the shade 02. I've been skipping foundation recently in favour of a more natural looking face and this product has been my favourite. I applied it to any spots and red areas and blended it in with a foundation brush. I also decided against adding powder, as I wanted a more dewy look, rather than a matte one.

I then neatened up my eyebrows using an eyebrow brush. I don't usually fill them in or add pencil to them, so I didn't bother with this step. I used the lightest white shade in my Primark eyeshadow palette to highlight my brow bone.

After this I went straight on to eye makeup. I opted for my Primark palette again , as it has some beautiful colours in it and is great for Spring. I used the second shade, which is a gorgeous champagne colour, and added it all over my eyelid, taking it to just above the crease. I love this eyeshadow as it is really pretty and the colour is lovely. I then took a random eyeshadow palette which has been sitting in my drawers for a while. I love the matte brown colour, so I used this in my crease.

For mascara, I used Benefit's They're Real, simply because it is great at lengthening and making my lashes look more voluminous, which is exactly what I wanted. The consistency is great and it applies really easily. I only applied a light coat of this as I wanted my makeup to look less harsh, but I still think it turned out really well.

Next, I went on to the rest of my skin. For a light bronzing, I used Hoola from Benefit. It is a gorgeous bronzer that lasts all day and really makes me look glowing. I applied this to the main points of my face, focusing in the hollows of my cheeks and my hairline, where I need it most. I used my Bourjois Cream Blusher as you guys know how much I love it.

To finish off, I added my Hoola lipgloss to my lips. It's a really subtle colour which I opted for to make my eye makeup really stand out.

Here is the finished look. I hope you like it as much as I do, especially for this Spring. My camera wasn't the best at picking up my makeup look so I'm sorry about that. I'm also aware that this is a really bad photo of me, sorry.
