How To Get In The Christmas Spirit - Blogmas Day 2

Sunday, December 02, 2018

For day 2 of blogmas, I thought I'd inject some festive cheer and share my favourite ways to get into the Christmas spirit. I know a lot of people aren't feeling festive yet but I'm starting to really feel Christmas getting close now, and I thought it'd be nice to share some of the different things that I plan on doing.

Watch a Christmas film - there's no better way to feel festive than watching a Christmas film. The snow, the decorations, the cute storylines - everything about them just make me feel so warm and cosy! There's seriously no better way to feel festive than curled up on the couch with a hot chocolate and watching a classic like Home Alone or The Polar Express.

Put up your decorations - if you're not feeling festive, one of the best ways to change this is to start putting up all the Christmas decorations. Not only is it really enjoyable decorating the house, but it also puts you in the Christmas spirit constantly seeing the festive touches when you're going about your daily business.

Listen to Christmas music - when it's December, I pretty much have Christmas music playing 24/7 - when getting ready of a morning, when doing uni work, when walking - you name it! It really injects a festive spirit into your everyday life and it definitely puts me in a good mood!

Attend some Christmas events in the area - why not get out of the house and see what's happening in your local area? I'd love to embrace the Christmas spirit by doing something different like attending a carol service, a Christmas play or another kind of event, and it's worth seeing if your town or city has anything similar to go to

Do some Christmas shopping and visit the markets - if this is a task that you've been putting off, why not try and conquer it today? Although Christmas shopping can be exhausting, it's also a great way to put you in the festive mood and think of all the lovely gifts that your family and friends will be pleased with

Jazz up your makeup looks - now is the perfect time to crack out a red lip or a berry eye look, and add an injection of festivity into your makeup look. I tend to keep my makeup quite simplistic on a day to day basis, but around winter time it's really enjoyable adding some more seasonal touches to this

Do some baking or crafts - baking is the perfect way to get in the Christmas spirit - you can choose a festive idea, indulge in the taste of a home-baked treat, and you can also share them with your family and friends! Trying some crafts is also a fun way to spend the day and you could even make some decorations for your house to jazz it up!

Go to church - if you're religious, why not go back to the roots of Christmas and connect with the true meaning of this time of year. I actually really enjoy this atmosphere, along with the hymns, and it's definitely a more traditional take on Christmas that you might want to try

Make plans to spend time with people - Christmas is a time for connecting with people who you might not get time to see on a regular basis, so why not go out of your way to make plans with family members that you hardly see or friends that you might've drifted from. It'd be nice to have a catch-up over a meal or drinks, or if you're looking for inspiration why not meet up and do one of the other things from this list?

I hope you liked this list of suggestions for getting in the Christmas spirit, and quite a lot of these you'll actually be seeing later on in Blogmas since I'll be doing a lot of them and sharing it here. I'm really starting to feel festive now, and I can't wait for you to come back tomorrow and see what else is in store! Thank you very much for reading this post and I'll see you tomorrow!

Love from Daisy x
