monthly favourites june 2017 beauty lifestyle

It's almost the end of June, meaning it's time for another monthly favourites post! This month has gone incredibly fast and I can't believe that it's practically over, but that does mean that it's officially summer and we've finally had some nicer weather! I don't tend to do these posts regularly but I've been loving a variety of items lately that I thought were worth mentioning, and my monthly favourites are always popular posts. From beauty to lifestyle and a variety of other things, keep reading to find out what my current favourites are!

For a while, I stopped using a highlighter in my everyday makeup routine and often forgot to apply it when I had the chance. However, I've recently remembered my love for the Mary Lou Manizer by The Balm and have been incorporating it into my makeup looks in the latter half of the month. This is hands-down my favourite highlighter for creating an illuminated, glowy look, and even just a little bit on my cheekbones goes a long way.

I'm always up for trying new mascaras and I decided to switch it up a bit this month and try the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. I've had a sample of this lying in my makeup collection for months and never got around to trying it, but now that I've started using it there's honestly no looking back. This product makes my eyelashes look fluttery like you wouldn't believe, with the perfect amount of volume to add some intensity without being clumpy.

Primark's beauty range is definitely underrated, and this month I rediscovered one of my favourites from them - the PS Beauty Pro Lipgloss. I used this product non-stop around when I started college and I'm so glad that it's back in my everyday makeup bag. Not only is the colour a gorgeous, flattering pink, but it provides a glossy sheen that isn't sticky or uncomfortable at all. And considering it's a budget product, I'd definitely urge you to try it out.

In terms of fragrances, this month I've found myself reaching for the Victoria's Secret Sheer Love Fragrance Mist on a daily basis and I've loved using it. I threw this in my essentials bag when moving house, and since then I've used it non-stop. This scent is floral and feminine, being the perfect choice for the summer months, and I also find that it lasts for quite some time compared to other body sprays.

I've already mentioned it a few times on my blog, but I've relied heavily on the Acnecide Spot Cream recently and so it definitely deserves a place in my monthly favourites. This product has cleared up my skin incredibly, aside from a few rogue spots, and my blemishes are nowhere near as bad as they used to be. I'll definitely be continuing to use this cream daily, as it's such an easy step in my skincare routine to ensure clearer skin.

I always find myself having sore feet in the summer, as a lot of my sandals and pumps tend to rub the backs of my heels. The Compeed Blister Plasters have been a saviour in this instance, and they've protected my heels from being rubbed further and prevented any discomfort whilst wearing shoes. They also last considerably longer than regular plasters and are transparent for more discrete usage.

Not only have I been impressed by Primark's makeup this month, but I've really loved a variety of the Primark Chokers. These are my favourite accessories to wear, and they're sold in packs that are fairly affordable, meaning you can try out quite a few at once. They're all really pretty and I've been wearing them loads, either on their own or paired for a layered look, so if you see me wearing a choker then you can guarantee that it's from Primark.

I also purchased a Rosegold Floral Ear Cuff from Primark that I've worn quite a few times and loved. It's the perfect way to try out other styles of earrings despite not having a helix piercing, as it simply clips around the ear. I'm not quite sure if I suit this or not but I really like how it looks and have worn it quite a lot this month.

My music favourite for the month is definitely Melodrama by Lorde, which is her new album. I've never been thoroughly invested in her music but I liked Green Light when it came out a few months ago and decided to give the rest of her album a go once it was released. I was happily surprised, as I love pretty much every song on there and I can definitely picture it being my album of the summer.

My final favourite probably isn't a surprise for most of you, but it's the Twin Peaks Revival. It's no secret by now that I'm a huge fan of Twin Peaks and I've been watching the new season obsessively since it premiered at the end of May. Although I wasn't quite sure about the new episodes at first, I'm now addicted and love the direction that the show's going in. I've also been listening to the Twin Peaks Unwrapped Podcasts every day, catching up on all of the old episodes, and I'm a huge fan of these commentaries.

I hope you liked hearing what my favourites have been this month, and I'd love to hear what you've been loving down in the comments. Also, make sure you follow me on social media, especially Twitter, to hear about what products I'm using and what's happening in my life throughout the month. Thanks for reading this post and I'll see you again next Sunday!

Love from Daisy x

  3. Think there is a new L'Oreal mascara that is supposed to be a dupe for the Better than Sex mascara. May be worth a try also :) xx
